For a few reasons they have not been hacked. Their public websites are not hosted on their network, they use AWS to host those sites. Most bethelietes don't have forward facing emails, which means someone from the outside cannot email their corporate email account. Their network is segregated so even if you infect someone in maintenance construction you can only see files they are authorized to access. Finally, for most hackers who do it for financial gain, there is very little personal financial data that can be stolen and utilized for their own gain.

Governing Body Members Confessing Before Feds And Trying To Plea Bargin
by Brokeback Watchtower ini'm sure that insider informants ie: gb ass protectors may offer themselves as witnesses in a plea bargin from prosecution.. i'm thinking that a few gb member might turn in evidence to the state to lighten their sentence for charity fraud..

For it to be fraud they would have to make specific promises to use the money for a specific purpose with no intention to fulfill those promises. It would also have to be proven that individuals benefited from that money that were unreasonable. Most large charities have paid administrative stuff that must be paid, which they are allowed to do. It just can't be that they are paid beyond reasonable rates. I know you feel that they are guilty of that but it must be what is provable in law.

What laws do you think that Watchtower has broken in order for them to be prosecuted, actually what crimes do you think individuals within Watchtower, such as GB or Branch Committee, has broken that would actually be prosecutable.

What's Going on In Quebec? Class action?
by Slidin Fast inaccording to these news items the child abuse front is extending to quebec.
a class action would really open some eyes i suspect.
here's hoping!

Certainly the law firm that is filing this has taken a lot into account but it is not as easy as people think and they may lose. Look at in the US the Berry case that was won by Watchtower, even though the law firm that took on the case did all of their homework and thought that they had a real case.
I found this interesting about class action cases in Canada.
Tests for Certification
The details of the tests differ in each jurisdiction’s legislation. However, generally speaking, there are five criteria that must be satisfied in order for the action to be certified:
• the pleadings must disclose a cause of action;
• there must be an identifiable class;
• the proposed representative must be appropriate;
• there must be common issues; and
• the class action must be the preferable procedure.

It is technically not a class action lawsuit right now. There is a petition for it to be classified as such but it is up to the court to grant that status.
I know that this isn't the US but it may be somewhat similar. For it to be a class action there has be a significant amount of people who have suffered that harm from that action. Also they plaintiffs would have to suffer from very similar harm and from very similar causes.
I think that they may get classification on one of their cause of action which is those that have been abused by Elders, but I really doubt that it will extend to the cause of action that the perpetrator was just a member of Jehovah's Witnesses and is not an agent of Watchtower.

2018 Annual Meeting
by EyesOpenHeartBroken indoes anybody have any word on the 2018 annual meeting?
i assume something new will be rolled out, since they are having all the congregations do special weekend streaming.. my guess is that there will be some major "new light" concerning the memorial, partaking, anointed, etc.
i would guess that they will say all baptized believers should partake.

In most cases even if you are reproved or disfellowshipped they give you some time to collect your belongs and make arrangements. If you're reproved they may give you a week or so to make your arrangements, DF'ing I have heard they are more firm on the week requirement that you depart. You can stay there your just not going to work or morning worship, the idea is your spending that time to pack and get ready to leave.
If you leave on your own they request that you give 30 days notice and for the most part those that are being dismissed due to them no longer being needed they are giving them at least 30 days to get their affairs in order. Also most bethelietes unless your going in from SKE is only being accepted as long-term temps with an expiration for 1, 2 or 3-year terms so you know that at the end of your term they may or may not extend you.
For the commissary, there is a little computer where you put in your Bethel ID number and the cost of the items that you are purchasing. That gets added to your monthly expense account. The account can cover anything from vehicle maintenance to gas purchased at the gas pump to your cell phone if you're using their corporate TMobile account. The account also includes your credits such as reimbursement for travel to and from meetings, assemblies, and conventions.
